Ruth Freestone Collier 81, of Centerville, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in Bountiful, UT on May 21, 2005. She was born July 23, 1923 to George A. and Allie King Freestone. Ruth was reared and educated in in Ogden, UT. She graduated from Ogden High School and the Dee Hospital College of Nursing. She married Charles William Collier in Indianapolis. He later died April 30, 1980. She had been a registered Nurse. She worked at Dee Hospital in Ogden and St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. She enjoyed bowling, reading and working with stain glass. Ruth is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and one sister. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.

He was born Sept. 20, 1929 in Archer, Texas to George Washington Petit and Eartis (Darsard) Petit.On Oct. 10, 1953 he married Joyce Foster in Archer City, Texas. He moved to Seminole 40 years ago from California and was a self-employed truck driver.He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC-1st Class and was a member of the Maud Assembly of God Church. Surviving is his wife of the home; son, Jimmy W. Petit of Pottsboro, Texas; daughter, Sherrie L. Griffith of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Robert Andrew Petit and C.W. Petit; five sisters: Ruby Hopkins, Rachel Henry, Melinda Jane Neihols, Corine Bettencourt and Lena Dee Overboy; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.swearingenfuneralhome.com.

Anita Dobbs, 81, of Odessa, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2005.
Anita was born May 23, 1924, in Estelline, Texas, and returned to Odessa in 1991 from Ballinger, Texas. Anita graduated from Pecos High School in 1943. She and Cecil Emmitt Dobbs married in her parents home in Abilene the same year on May 15th. The couple enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Cecil passed away in 1997.
Anita was proud of her heritage in that her father was a Native American of the Tuscarora Indian Tribe from Ontario, Canada. Anita also had tremendous character. A hard worker, Anita was employed by the City of Odessa for nine years in the 1980s. Also, Anita was an outstanding homemaker who loved her family with all her heart. A Christian woman, Anita was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Dwyane and Gayle Dobbs and David and Dianna Dobbs, both of Odessa; grandchildren, Spencer and Cary Dobbs of Odessa, Scott and Kristy Winchell of Odessa, Matthew and Carly Myers of Lubbock, and Samuel Dobbs of Odessa; as well as great-grandchildren, Conner and Sierra Dobbs, Katelynn and Dylan Winchell and Blayden and Sterling Myers.
Anita is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Robert and Myrtle Cusick; and her brother, Robert Bob Cusick.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, at the Frank Wilson Funeral Chapel in Odessa, Texas with the Rev. Robert Bratcher and Lynn Money officiating.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
