FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. MEADOWS
Mrs. Alice Meadows of Paradise died January 26, 1963 in the Bridgeport Hospital.
She was born in Jasperville, Texas January 31, 1873 and had lived for many years in Paradise.
Funeral services were held at the Cottondale Church of Christ on Sunday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Cottondale Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Golaz of Paradise, four sons, Allen and Fulton Meadows of Briscoe, and Henry and Tom Meadows of Paradise.
Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. One sister, Mrs. June Wilson of Oklahoma also survives.

Carl, sun of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Garrett, of East Florence, was born July 30, 1897, and died of pneumonia December 30, 1899.
Carl was a. sweet, bright, promising child. The Lord sometimes plucks the brightest flowers. This he has a right to do, and we bow in humble submission to the will of our heavenly Father, knowing that he is too wise to make a mistake, and too good to do wrong. Weep not, father and mother, Carl is gone, though not lost, but safe in the arms of Jesus. Our dear little Carl is gone and our hearts are sorely riven. Death of W. G. Garrett.
Mr. W. G. Garrett, who left Florence in 1901, returned to his brother's home near St. Joseph, Tenn., in November, where he died January 26, 1907, aged 36 years and 10 months. After service in St. James church conducted by Revs. W. T. Holdridge and G. M. Randle, his remains where laid to rest in the Florence cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.
Mr. Garrett was a brother of Mrs. G. M. Randle, and leaves a wife, two children, mother, seven sisters and one brother to mourn their loss. A good man has gone to his reward. G. M. Randle
In Memoriam
William G. Garrett was born in Wayne County, Tenn., March 4, 1870; was married to Alice Lanier in Florence, Ala., Jan. 6, 1895.
To them was born five children, one girl and four boys. Three boys had passed over the river to greet papa on the other shore. Brother Will moved from Florence in Feb., 1901, to Delta County, Texas, where in the Spring of 1906 he began failing in health, until November last he returned the home of the writer, St. Joseph, Tenn., where he peacefully passed away Jan. 26, 1907.
Though he was never a member of any church, he gave every evidence during his last illness that he was at peace with his God and fellowman. He frequently asked the young people to come in and sing for him, his favorite songs being "Nothing Between my Soul and Heaven" and "I'll Fly Away Home. He often told us that. he was ready and willing to go; all he hated was leaving Alice and the children.
O, glory to God, Im nearing home, That blessed home so freely given; I'm ready to go; the way is clear.

Mrs. Bilberry died about 10;30 a.m. March 10 in the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born October 1, 1915 in Stephens County and resided in Dickens County most of her life. She was a nurse.
She married J.V. Bilberry in 1943 in Spur and he died on February 21, 1944. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a brother, Cleo R.Thomason of Houston; a niece, Patricia Stubblefield, Houston and a nephew, Michael Thomason, Houston; several cousins.
Pallbearers included Robert Hahn, Noel Shaw, Russell Williams, Harry Martin, Elmer McCombs and George Erath.
