Mr.Nelms passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side.At the age of 82 yrs old.During WWII,Mr.Nelms served in the Army 96th Infantry Division in the South Pacific.He was a custom home builder and a master cabinet maker and furniture restorer.He is survived by his loving wife of 60 yrs ,Virginia Pauline Nelms,3 children,Dona Potter and husband James,Rita Morton and husband Donnie,all of Combine,Terry Paul Nelms and wife Donna of Palestine Tx,daughter in law Glenda Nelms of Crandall,ex-daughterinlaw Ginger Nelms of Combine,He is preceded in death by son Arnold Wayne jr.He is also survived by sister in law Billie Nelms Barr of Dallas,13 grandkids,12 greatgrandkids.Arnold will also be missed by his 13 yr old companion Bitsylou his Yorkshire Terrier.

James was a 1957 graduate of Rylie High, where he met his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Jessie Nelms. James was a UPS feeder truck driver for 23 years, where he was known by his CB handle, Empty Pockets. Prior to that, he was a master drywall and paint contractor for 21 years, having been taught that business by his father. A member of First Baptist Church, Mesquite, James worshiped God and nature as an avid deer hunter. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Jessie; sons James Crimm, Jr., Balch Springs, and John Crimm and Cissy of Grand Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Gregory, and Brittany; Mother, Helen Crimm, Dallas; sister, Mary Mahaffey and Don, Cumby; sisters and brothersin-law: Carl & Fern Nelms, Hesston, KS; Joy & Jim Mangham, Crandall; Amber Drake, Garland; Tonya & Mike Murphy, Malakoff; Uncle Carel Stone, Midlothian; and numerous nieces and nephews. Obituary
Billie Ruth Nelms was born in Electra, Texas on October 4, 1925. She went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2015 in Mesquite, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents John & Bessie Ruark, husband Melvin Ray Hudmon, husband Victor B. Nelms; sisters Hazel Mathis and Nellie Richards; brother Shelby Ruark and granddaughters Danielle Jennine & Sandra Jeanette Nelms.
Left with fond memories to cherish are her sister Myrel Arthur; son Wayne Ray Hudmon & companion Geraldine Ebersole; son Kenneth Jeral Nelms & wife Vickie; daughter Vicki Ruth Perez & husband David; grandchildren Randy Lee, Richard Perez, Jacinta Perez, Heather Shropshire and Michael Nelms; great grandchildren Quentin Perez, Mira Arevalo, Faith Perez, Amari Shropshire, Nathan Shropshire and Isiah Shropshire.
She worked for many years as a florist and also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Billie was a very active individual. She was always on the move. Her many activities included dancing and playing the drums at the Senior Center of Balch Springs. Although she was busy all the time, she began every day with her routine of stopping at McDonalds for a cup of coffee and a sausage & egg biscuit.
The family will receive friends at a visitation 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Interment at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas will follow. Brother Wayne Gilcrease officiating.
