Those left to celebrate his life are: a wife Billie Ferguson of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Theresa Collins of Dallas, TX; two grandsons, Tom Collins of Dallas, TX and Jason Collins and wife Jessica of Forney, TX. Three brothers, Mickey Ferguson and wife Jackie of Combine, TX, Billy Jack Scooter Patterson of Forney, TX, David Patterson and wife Carol of Dallas, TX; four sisters Joy Eller and husband Jim of Arlington, TX, Judy Cleveland of Arlington, TX Tina Hopkins and husband Bill of Ft. Worth, TX, Brenda Ferrell and husband Dean of Ovilla, TX; as well as two great grandchildren, Blake and Bryce Boatman. Lillian Nelms, widow of colorful millionaire, dies at 87

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 1996 at Restland Funeral Home's Wildwood Chapel for Lillian Katherine Dunfield Nelms, widow of Dallas entrepreneur O.L. Nelms.
Mrs. Nelms, 87, died Thursday at a Grapevine nursing home of complications from a stroke she suffered a year ago. She will be buried in Restland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Nelms and her husband, who died in May 1972, became millionaires by building their tobacco and candy wholesale business from scratch. Mr. Nelms was a colorful Dallas institution in the 1960s for placing billboards across the city that proclaimed: "Thanks all of you for helping O.L. Nelms make another million."
The Nelmses also shared their wealth, donating land to the Dallas Health and Science Museum and to many struggling churches.
Mrs. Nelms was born on a farm near Frisco and attended school through the eighth grade. She came to Dallas in 1928 to work as a waitress at her cousin's Fair Park-area restaurant, where she met Mr. Nelms.
When they married, Mr. Nelms had only $5.
"He knew he was going to have to give the minister all his money when they got married, so they went to a drugstore and had a nickel Coke before they got married," said their daughter, Lee Fahrenbrook of Southlake.
Mr. Nelms, who had a third-grade education, first tried to start a diaper service. The young couple started the wholesale business in the 1930s. Mrs. Nelms kept the books and ran the cash register.
In the 24 years since her husband's death, Mrs. Nelms was a fantastic grandmother, her daughter said. "That's how people think of her.
"Her favorite meal was . . . breakfast," Ms. Fahrenbrook said. That's why her classified obituary began by stating that she had breakfast in heaven Thursday.
In addition to Mrs. Fahrenbrook, Mrs. Nelms is survived by another daughter, Dixie Roden of Dallas, and five grandchildren

Notes for Billie Juanita HUNTERBillie Juanita (Hunter) Ferguson, 85, of Dallas, passed away on March 1, 2014 in Dallas. She was born on March 25, 1928 in Rockwall County to Richard Theron Hunter and Lela Belle (Patton) Hunter who both preceded her in death. Known as "Cooter" and "Juanita" to many friends and as "Nan" to her grandchildren, Billie loved quilting and watching movies. She was a classy lady who always put everyone else's needs before her own. She always had a smile on her face and never showed pain, sadness or disappointment to those around her. She loved the water and was even a certified Life Guard. She volunteered time with Meals on Wheels and was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Stars since 1965. Billie was a practicing member of the Mother Church of Christ Scientists. She touched so many lives in her years and will be missed by all.
Billie is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lucky Ferguson, brother Richard Hunter, Jr., brother Jerry Hunter and by her parents. Those left to celebrate her life are daughter Theresa Collins of Dallas, grandsons Tom Collins and wife Jennifer of Richardson and Jason Collins and wife Jessica Boatman of Forney; great grandchildren Blake and Bryce Boatman; sister-in-law Lou Hunter; "Honorary Daughters" Barbara Voigt and Trudy Ladd; and a host of other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss her dearly.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 8, at 12 pm at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Association.

Clell K. Lenamond, resident of Mexia and formerly of Thornton, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Groesbeck Funeral Home, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M., and burial will follow in Cobb Cemetery.
In his early years, Clell would help with milking the cows for the family business. He recently recounted the stories of taking the milk out to the lane for the Borden man to pick up. After graduating from Thornton High School in 1944, he married his high school sweetheart and late wife Joan Rasco on October 19, 1945. They moved to the Dallas area where Clell began working for Lone Star Gas Company in August of 1951. Soon thereafter Clell began to associate with Jehovahs Witnesses and was baptized in 1960. He put Jehovah first in his life and was a beautiful example to his family and congregation. He happily served as an elder for many decades. After the loss of his wife Joan, he married Dixie Maxwell on November 11, 2006. They were just shy of celebrating their 9 year anniversary.
While Clell had many interests, two of his passions involved the Bible and being outdoors. He was known for his love of Jehovah God, in particular he enjoyed talking to others about Gods purpose for the earth under his Kingdom. His favorite scripture was Revelation 21:5 And the One seated on the throne said: Look! I am making all things new. Also he says: Write, for these words are faithful and true. Clell resolutely believed in Gods promise to rid the earth of suffering and death by means of his Kingdom to fulfill his original purpose to make the earth a paradise for mankinds enjoyment; not for a few years but forever. While Clell fondly remembered certain aspects of the past, he looked forward with great eagerness to an endless life in Gods promised paradise on earth.
When time allowed, CK enjoyed gardening, fishing and working his land. Clell and his sons with the help of JB Simmons developed a love for Caddo Lake and Clell always looked forward to the bi-annual Guys Trip, a weekend full of fishing, food and laughter. He loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes, onions and watermelons and those that were close to him always greatly benefited from that passion. He spent countless hours preparing and cultivating his gardens, and just as many fighting off the coyotes. In his last days he made sure the kids knew it was almost time to start planting the onions.
Clell was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Thelma; wife Joan and great-granddaughter Brooklynne Grace and brother Weldon.
Clell is survived by his wife, Dixie Lenamond of Thornton; three sons: Mike Lenamond of Lancaster, Kim Lenamond of Thornton, and Kyle Lenamond and wife Lindsey of Dallas; six grandchildren: Natalie Perego, Amy Hiscock, Adam Lenamond, Joshua Lenamond, Lynsey Jackson and Blake Lenamond; and five great-grandchildren: Kolby Ramirez, Jessica Lenamond, Morgan Lenamond, Ashlynne Hiscock and Alexa Hiscock. He is also survived by siblings Billy Jean Lenamond of Lake Whitney, Texas and Sylvia Joan Palmer of Greenville, Texas.
The family would like to especially thank Judy Erickson, Marshall McCullen and Providence Hospice for their love and support during this trying time.

Joan R. Lenamond Graveside Services Held December 22
Joan Rasco Lenamond, age 80 of Thornton passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2005 in Groesbeck.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Cobb Cemetery with Minister Billie Ridge officiating.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 24 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Mexia.
Joan was born on March 21, 1925 in Corsicana. She was a 1944 graduate of Thornton High School. She married Clell Lenamond on October 19, 1945 in Dallas.
She loved to write poetry and had written several in which one was published. Joan had a love of music and enjoyed playing the piano.
Survivors include her husband, Clell Lenamond of Thornton; three sons: Mike Clell Lenamond of Lancaster, Kim Lenamond and wife Marsha of Lancaster, and Kyle Lenamond and wife Sharon of Rowlett; six grandchildren: Adam Lenamond, Blake Lenamond, Joshua Lenamond, Amy Hiscock, Natalie Lanamond and Lynsey Jackson; and four great-grandchildren: Colby Ramirez, Jessica Lenamond, Morgan Lenamond and Ashlynne Hiscock.
Groesbeck Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
