Lula was the daughter of Thomas and Ollie Jane Davis McClinton. Her parents are buried in Parker Cemetery near Grapeland. She is buried beside her husband, Grady Turner, who she married 3 May 1913 in Houston County.Their daughters, Reba Loye Turner Howell and Elsie Turner Parker, and son-in-law, Wilbur Truitt Walston, are also buried in Garden of Memories.

Mrs. Lula Turner
Mrs. Lula T. Turner, 71, of 206 E. Neches St., died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday in a local hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel with the Rev. W. M. White and the Rev. Carroll Fancher officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Elkhart. The body will be at Hassell & Foster until after chapel rites.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Henderson, Bert Cade, H. L. Howell, Jr., W. H. Brenton, Oliver Davis and L. E. (Cush) Reeves.
Mrs. Turner, the former Lula Temple McClinton, was born June 19, 1899 in Houston County to the late Tom McClinton and Mrs. Ollie Davis McClinton. Widow of the late Grady Turner, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as a nurses aide.
Survivors include one son, Winston V. Turner of North Carolina; four daughters, Mrs. W. T. (Ludie) Walston and Mrs. H. L. (Reba) Howell, both of Palestine, Mrs. C. W. (Lorene) Greenwood of Garland, and Mrs. S. B. (Elsie) Parker of Houston; three brothers, John McClinton of Houston, Davis McClinton of Elkhart, and Paxton McClinton of Kennard; one sister, Mrs. Laura Franklin of Brazoria; three half brothers, Guy Ellis and Joe Earl Ellis, both of Elkhart, and Chesley Ellis of Birmingham, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

John was the son of William and Mary Ann Lewis Weatherford. According to his Civil War pension application, he came to Texas in 1866. He enlisted in the spring of 1862 served as a Private in Phelon's Alabama Light Artillery in the CSA during the Civil War. His company surrendered at Meridian, MS at the close of the war in 1865. He married Amanda Clementine Blocker who he married about 1859/1860. Shortly after their marriage, they came to Texas by boat, landing at Jefferson, TX. They lived in several areas before settling with their eleven children in Anderson County.

Services for Marion F. "Jack" Walston, 66, of Zavalla will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart.
Mr. Walston died Sunday in a Lufkin hospital.
Walston was born May 12, 1920 in Palestine, a son of Audie and Dessie Howell Walston. He was a Baptist and a truck driver for Lone Star Cement Co.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn A. Walston; daughter, Francis Combs of Seguin; son, Michael Walston of Austin; stepdaughter, Marianne Schneider of Hollywood, Fla.; stepsons, Victor Nemeth of Houston; Joseph Nemeth of Kansas City, Mo., and John Nemeth of Spring; sisters, Geneva Willard of Palestine, and Genita Moore of Madisonville, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

FRANCES WALSTON WILLIAMS
"Fran" passed away November 5, 1994 in Salt Lake City, after a two year battle with cancer.
Fran was the daughter of Eunice Watts and Jack Walstrom, born October 19, 1941 in Luling, Texas.
She spent most of her life in Texas and Louisiana before moving to Utah four years ago, where she married Don Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Don Williams of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Mike Walston of Smithville, Texas; Woodrow McDonald of Salt Lake City; and Randall McDonald of Austin, Texas; seven children, Marcia Oden, Flomanton, Alabama; James Tipton, Elkton, So. Dakota; Carrie Pitre, Bourge, Lousiana; Sherrie Bleitz, Wenatchee, Wash.; Lonnie Tanner, Brookings, So. Dakota; David Tanner, Arlington, So. Dakota; and Kevin Combs of Salt Lake City; and 13 grandchildren. Preceded in death by three husbands, James P. Tipton, "Ron" Lonnie Tanner, and Joe Combs, and one child, Steven Tanner.
May she rest in peace.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 10, 1994 at 3:00 p.m. at the Oakley City Cemetery in Oakley, Utah.
