Charles Bradburn
Charles P. Bradburn, 69 227 Purdum St., died at 5:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital following a three-month illness.
Born October 17, 1904. Muldrow, Okla., he was the son of Joe and Nancy (Goff) Bradburn. In 1939 he married Lucille Prince who survives.
He was an employee of Continental Steel Corporation and retired from there in 1969. He was also a member of United Steelworkers of America and the Church of Christ Courtland Courtland Avenue.
Surviving with the widow are daughters: Mrs. Larry (Myron) DeWitt, Mrs. Larry (Louise) Ballard, Mrs. Terry (Mary) Bare, Mrs. Jerry (Lynn) Love. all of Kokomo; Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Nailie, Cape May, N.J., Miss Brenda Bradburn Phoenix. Ariz., and Miss Carol Bradbun, at home; three sons. Joe Bradburn, Peru, James and Larry Bradburn, at home; three sisters. Mrs. Charles (Alice) Earley, Bartlesville, Okla., Mrs. Lloyd (May) Kissire, Paoli., Okla., Mrs. Bea Garrett. Valley View, Tex.; one brother. Leo Bradburn, Louisiana; seven grandchildren and a stepmother. Mrs. Nellie Owens, Paul's Valley, Okla.
Funeral services wlll be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ellers Murtuary with Mr. Max Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends May call From 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday.

Archie Leo Bradburn was born May 7, 1922 in Welty, OK, former resident of Paoli, OK and resident of New Iberia, LA Mr. Bradburn passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Dauterive Hospital, LA
Mr. Bradburn was a Veteran of WWII serving in the 136th Field Artillery Battalion in the Southern Philippines and was Honorably Discharged on December 22, 1945.
He was employed at Kerr McGee for many years, starting as a roughneck and working his way up to Superintendent of Operations before retiring and was a member of the New Iberia Church of Christ having served as an Elder.
Mr. Bradburn was an avid and accomplished golfer. He made a "Hole in One" twice and at the age of 76 shot a 76. He won several tournaments including, First Flight Winner in the Houma Oil Tournament, 1974; First Place in the Gulf Coast Oil Tournament, 1982 and First Place at the Acadiana Pro-AM Assoc, 1988.
He continued to enjoy golfing into his 90's and also was a Marshall at Squirrel Run Country Club. He played AAA ball for the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed coaching his grandson, Jason's baseball teams at Evangeline Little League and Iberia Youth Baseball Association. He also enjoyed playing card games with his family and keeping his lawn perfectly groomed.
He is survived by his children, Joe Boyd Bradburn and wife Marcia of the Woodlands, TX; Michael Lee Bradburn and wife Linda and Kay Bradburn Marcel and husband Stephen all of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Joe Boyd "Brad" Bradburn, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Austin, TX; Archie Leo Bradburn, II and wife Mindy of the Woodlands, TX; Bridget Bradburn Hollums and husband Christian of the Woodlands, TX; Jason Guy Marcel and wife Erin of Urbandale, IA and Joel Michael Marcel of New Iberia; seven great grandchildren, Christian Zin, Megan Zin, Luke Bradburn, Helena Bradburn, Ezra Bradburn, Maya Marcel and Finn Marcel and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Joan Morrow Bradburn; parents, Nellie Bly Allen Bradburn and Joe Eleck Bradburn; one brother, Jessie Bradburn and three sisters, Alice Bradburn Early, Mae Bradburn Kissire and Beatrice Bradburn White.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Paoli Cemetery officiated by Roy Shave. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Officers Recover Body Of Missing Denton Man
Denton sheriffs deputies pulled the body of a 24-year-old Denton man from Big Elm Creek about one and one-half miles north of U.S. 380 near Fishtrap Road late Thursday night.
Justice of the Peace Andy Bishop of Pilot Point pronounced the man, identified as Michael Bradburn, dead at the scene at 11:45 p.m. Thursday. Bishop is awaiting ruling on the cause of death until an autopsy can be performed.
Two men fishing at the creek first discovered the body in a log jam floating face down and notified authorities, according to a sheriff's department report of the incident.
Bradburn had been reported missing June 7 after he failed to return from a country and western music festival near Aubrey from a trip to purchase beer at Lincoln Park, the report said.
The man's pickup truck was found later that day abandoned on Hartlee Field Road, the report said.

Ruling Remains Pending On Body Found In Creek
Officials still have not ruled on the cause of the death of a Denton man whose badly decomposed body was found in Big Elm Creek more than eight days ago.
Two men fishing at the creek found the body of Michael Bradburn, 24, floating face down in a log jam the evening of June 19.
Bradburn was reported missing June 7 when he failed to return to a country and western music festival in Aubrey that evening. Earlier, the Denton High School graduate had left the festival to purchase beer at nearby Lincoln Park and was to return to a group of friends at the festival, according to sheriff's department reports of the incident.
Shortly after the missing person report was received, sheriff's deputies discovered Bradburns truck abandoned on Hartlee Field Road near the creek.
The truck was stuck in the muddy road when sheriff's deputies attempted to remove it, but the heavy rains which turned the road to mud did not begin until after Bradburn was reported missing, according to Deputy Jerry Welborn.
Justice of the Peace Andy Bishop of Pilot Point said Saturday he still had not received the autopsy report on Bradburn and would delay ruling on the death until he gets it.
However, Welborn said the preliminary report of the autopsy showed no foul play involved in the death, although the body had been badly decomposed so as to prevent determination of exact cause of death.
