Ruby Jane Bowman was the daughter of Joel H. and Sarah Ellen Denson Bowman. Her parents are buried in Muse Cemetery. She shares a stone with her husband, Jasper Howard Woody Sr. They were married 65 years.

Mrs. Woody
ELKHARTFuneral services for Ruby Woody, 83, of Rt. 1, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, The Rev. Rick Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Hassell & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woody died today at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 29, 1900, a daughter of Joel Bowman and Sarah Denson Bowman. A longtime Elkhart resident, she was a member of First Baptist Church.
Her husband, Howard Woody Sr., preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1983.
Survivors include two daughters, Junita Underwood of Lancaster and Freida Cave of Mesquite; two sons, J.H. Woody Jr. and Jerry Glenn Woody, both of Elkhart; two sisters, Opal Ford of Jacksonville and Ardolia Packard of Rusk; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Zelma Knott of Elkhart.
Pallbearers will be Jack Woody, Homer Woody, Howard Huffman, Bennie Joe McInnis, W.A. Montgomery and Richard Grigsby.

Mr. Woody died Feb.4 in a local hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Elkhart to the late J. Howard Sr. and Ruby Jane Bowman Woody. He served in the Merchant Marine, Navy and Coast Guard during World War II. He retired as a self-employed brick mason and was a member of Muse Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Woody, Elkhart; daughters, Cheryl Darragh, Marshall, Debra Lynn Hamby, Elkhart, and Sheliah Woody, Fort Worth; sons, Pete Hefner, Elkhart, David "Tony" Woody, Exeter, N.H., and Charles Michael Woody, Baytown; sister, Freida Cave, Mesquite, and Junita Underwood, DeSoto; brother, Jerry G. Woody, Elkhart; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Carlean Salmon Woody,75,of Palestine were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Guiceland Cemetery with the Rev, Fred Neal officiating and Eastern Star graveside rites conducted by the Tennessee Colony Order of the Eastern Star, Arrangements were under Bailey and Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woody died Friday morning. She was born September 10,1919 in Anderson County to Walter and Lavina Salmon. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Baptist Church and the Tennessee Colony Eastern Star.
Mrs. Woody was proceeded in death by her parents; her sister Ruby Salmon; her husband Merrill T. Woody.
She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Fraim; three sons Jackie Merrill Woody, Larry Edwin Woody, and Gary David Woody; four sisters Myrtle Pierson, Jewell Gore, Ethel Green Ora Lee Power and a brother Walter Salmon, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
TRIBUTE TO GRANDMA
I am her oldest granddaughter and have many fond memories of my Grandma. I spent many hours at her house. When we were younger we would make popcorn balls at Christmas along with stringing popcorn and cranberries to hang on her tree. We would also make construction paper chains for tree decorations. When I got older she taught me how to sew and crochet. I spent a lot of time helping her quilt. She also loved to play dominoes and rummy...both games that I learned from her.
She also loved to sit outside in the evenings and spent many hours their with her great grandson Andrew...my first child.
At the time I did not realize the memories we were making or the impact they would have on my life. I miss my Grandma every day. Thank you Grandma for all the time you gave to us, it was worth more than all the gold in Fort Knox.

Funeral services for Benny Joe McInnis 72 of Elkhart, will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at Crockett Road Church of Christ, with Dan Manuel and Jim Morris officiating.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mr. McInnis passed away Monday at his residence. He was born January 19, 1940 in Dallas, to Buddy Joe and Lillian Woody McInnis.
He was a barber for over 45 years, and served as Deputy Constable and with the Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
He loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. McInnis was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Gail McInnis, mother-in-law Robbie Kate Grimsley, daughter Shelly Franklin and husband Dwight, sons Dean McInnis and wife Sherri, Jason McInnis and wife Kim, sister Billie Sue Hackett and husband Rollon, grandchildren Brandon Franklin and wife Holly, Bridgette Franklin, Braden McInnis, Emily Sides and Katie McInnis, great grandchildren Kahlei and Travis Franklin.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Franklin, Braden McInnis, Wayne Campbell, Jeff Croft, Vic Poff and Roy Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Vaughn, Jerry Woody, Larry Bennett and Men of Elkhart Church of Christ.
