Larry Grant Slaughter, Sr., 67, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at San Angelo Community Medical Center. Visitation will be held at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Hogan Cemetery.
Larry was born in Groesbeck, Texas, to the late John Nolan and Eddie Myrl Slaughter. He graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1958, worked for Western Electric in Houston for a few years before entering the Air Force National Guard. Upon completion of his service contract, he did Civilian Contracting overseas for several years. After returning to the states, he went to work for GTE and retired after 30 years. Larry has lived in San Angelo for 30 years, was a great father and grandfather, good Christian man, an avid Texas Rangers and Houston Astros fan, a great amatuer photographer, and a wonderful friend to many in his life and will be greatly missed by all.
Larry is survived by his son, Larry Grant Slaughter, Jr. and wife, Kim, of Crockett, Texas; daughter, Amanda Slaughter, of San Angelo; grandchildren Andy, Tommy, Michael and Bridgette; great-grandchildren, Juan Jose and Yazmin; brother, Roland Slaughter and wife, Beth, of Groesbeck; sister, Barbara Slaughter Robinson and husband, Bill, of Cross Plains, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Larry Grant Slaughter, Sr., of San Angelo, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008, at San Angelo Community Medical Center, at age 67.
Graveside services were held for Mr. Slaughter at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 29, at the Hogan Cemetery.
Larry is survived by a son, Larry Grant Slaughter, Jr. and wife Kim of Crockett; a daughter, Amanda Slaughter of San Angelo; a brother, Roland Slaughter and wife Beth of Groesbeck, a sister, Barbara Slaughter Robinson and husband Bill of Cross Plains; and nieces and nephews.
