Funeral services for Melodye Toniett Brooks Stinnett, 37. of Bridgeport were held Saturday, January 12, at Hawkins Funeral Chapel.
She died Thursday, January 10, 2002 in Bridgeport.
Born July 25. 1964 in Bridgeport, she was a lifetime resident of Wise County and a LVN at Sunny Hills Nursing Center in Decatur. She married Jimmy Stinnett on April 10, 1993 in Bridgeport. She was a member of the East Mound Church of Christ and also attended the Carpenter St. Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy Stinnett; a son Joseph Edward Denney; a daughter Amber Michele Denney; parents, Joseph David and Carolyn Brooks; grandparents Jean O'Dell and Annie Lee Brooks; brother Tommy David Brooks and wife Michele; sister Carolyn Joy "C.J." Brooks and several nieces. nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Interment was in Thomas Cemetery in Wise County with Brother Joe Richardson officiating and Brothers Ray Cook and Melvin Castleberry assisting. Pallbearers were Melvin Castleberry, Jerry York, Coy McIlroy, Michael Kinsey, Thomas Kinsey and Leif Peyton. Honorary Pallbearers were Billy Wiley and Tommy David Brooks.

He was born June 24, 1921, in Childress. He married Thelma Wren on Jan. 24, 1948, near Littlefield. He farmed in the Sudan community for more than 50 years before retiring in 1985. He served as mayor of Sudan for three terms and also served on the Sudan City Council for two terms. He served as the president of the Farmers Co-op Gin for two years. He was in the U.S. Air Force during World War II for a short time before his health forced an early discharge. He was a member of the Sudan Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Brent Wren Wiseman of Austin; a brother, Dean of Dimmitt; two sisters, Rose Nell Wood of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Laverne Bernethy of Dimmitt; and three grandchildren.

Maxine Gilbreath (Quitman)
Services for Maxine Gilbreath, 68, Quitman, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home's Chapel of the Chimes, Quitman, with the Rev. Fred Morrow officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial GArdens, Mineola.
Mrs. Gilbreath died Oct. 20.
She was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Wood County and lived there most of her life.
She was a homemaker and member of Forest Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner J. Gilbreath in 1983.
Survivors include son, Max Gilbreath, Huntsville; stepson, Phillip Gilbreath, Garland; daughters, Jan McMillian, Mineola, and Breda Smith, Lewisville; sisters, Erlene Self and Charlie Ruth Wilson, both of Quitman, and Mary Ann Williams, Mineoa; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include John Wilson, Dwayne Kieth, Richard Derr, Ronell Pogue, Ernie Irons, Lynn Gunn and Tony Spanko.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
