Captain's List (includes all men from 16yrs+), Age, Those free from disease and to be landed, Those taking Oaths to Government
Hendrick Wdener 18 Johann Henricheyner Johann Henrich Weydner
Conrad Widener 27 Philip Conrath Weydner Philips Conrad Weydner

This information is from the book "Pennsylvania German Pioneers" by Ralph B. Strassburger and William J.Hinke, published in 1934 by the Pennsylvania German Society, Norristown, PA. The spelling is as it appeared on the different lists and the names are listed in the order they appeared on the original lists. A blank indicates that that person wasn't on the next list. I have aligned the names so they are on the same line of each list. Again - the order was not changed.

*Many ships are only listed with men, yet many came with their wives, children, sister, etc, but these names were either not recorded or not saved. Only males over the age of 16 were allowed to sign the oaths, so these would be the names on Strasburger & Hinke's lists. The early ships before 1727 you most likely will only see the oaths lists. As time went on and the captains were forced to record all passengers, you will often see the entire list of males, females and children. The law to record these was passed in 1727, but obviously not enforced until later. Other places you may find ship lists not recorded in S & H might be Philadelphia newspapers of the time.

Generously donated by Ken Gissy
