SAVOY - Reverend Robert G. Cody, 90, went to be with his Lord on August 24, 2011.
The celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Savoy TX. Burial will follow at Little Jordan Cemetery in Savoy. Reverend Chris Merritt and Reverend Bill Sessoms will conduct the service. Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday 6-7 p.m. at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Savoy.
Robert (Bob) was born September 7, 1920 in Tipton, OK, the son of Michael Ney and Mollie Branch Cody. He married Gloria Virginia Lovelady on July 9, 1946 and they were married for 65 years. He was called into the ministry in 1959 and pastored several churches throughout Texas, and served locally at Calvary Baptist Church of Bonham, Elwood Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Savoy. During WW II he served his country in the United States Navy as a torpedo man on aircraft carriers in the South Pacific. Bob loved his Lord, family, and country. His hobbies were camping and fishing and after retirement, he and Gloria spent many summers in New Mexico.
Surviving family include his wife, Gloria of Bonham, TX; three daughters: Linda Bragg of Early, TX; Susie Melugin and her husband, Tom, of Savoy, TX; Patricia Green and her husband, Steve, of Campbell, TX; two sons: Terry Cody and his wife, Mary Ann, of Bonham, TX; Scott Cody of Savoy, TX; ten grandchildren: Michelle Southerland and her husband, Mark; Jeremiah Bragg; Stephanie Manning and her husband, Jackie; Kilee Adley and her husband, Kelley; Dr. Kyle Anderson and his wife, Dr. Carrie Cearley; Kelly Anderson; Candice Card; Stephen Card; Derek Green and Stephen Green; 12 great-grandchildren; Jackson Southerland, Lauren Southerland, Cailyn Southerland, Cody Bragg, Hannah Bragg, Kade Adley, Abigail Anderson, Amelia Anderson, Lillie Card and Hayden Green, Zachary Mannin and Alicia Mannin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Otis Cody, Roy Cody, Vernie Cody, Ted Cody, and Perman Cody; three sisters: Cecil Johnson, Betsy Brown and Effie Swan; and one grandson Justin Cody.
Pallbearers will be deacons of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Savoy or the donor's charity of choice.

Robert Scott Cody (1957-2011)
SAVOY - Scott Cody passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at his home in Savoy, Texas. Funeral services to honor the life of Robert Scott Cody, 54, of Savoy, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 14 at Mullican-Little Chapel in Savoy.
Interment will be at Little Jordan Cemetery east of Savoy. Rev. Houston Garner and Reverend Chris Merritt will conduct the service. Pallbearers will be Casey Blount, Cody Blount, Dillon Carter, Cus Carter, Rowdy Neu and Jake Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Blount, Dale Neu, Jerry Rutledge and Mike Worthington.
Scott was born January 24, 1957 in Longview, Texas to parents, Robert and Gloria Cody. He attended the Savoy schools, was in the construction business, and liked to rodeo. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
Surviving family include his mother, Gloria Cody of Bonham; three sisters, Linda Bragg of Early, Texas, Susie Melugin and her husband Tom of Savoy, Texas, Patricia Green and her husband Steve of Campbell, Texas; a brother, Terry Cody and his wife, Mary Ann of Bonham, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cody was preceded in death by his son, Justin Will Cody, and by his father Reverend Robert G. Cody. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Savoy where he was a member, or to the donor's charity of choice.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at Mullican-Little Chapel. The on-line guest book may be signed at www.mullicanlittle.com.

John Archie Cobb, 71, died Mar 13 in Decatur.
Rev. Mike Landry conducted services May 15 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Paradise Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donnie Slimp, Lance Stinnett, Jason Jenkins, Randy Cobb, Jason Cobb, and Bryan Jenkins.
Mr. Cobb was born at LaMesa Mar 24, 1926. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he married Betty Martin September 10, 1949. He had lived in Paradise for 49 years, and was a retired assembler, having worked for General Dynamics and Bell Helicopter. He is preceded in death by his grandson Tim Cobb and three brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife Betty, of Paradise; sons Leon Cobb, Paradise; David Cobb, Bridgeport; Sam Cobb, Rogersville, Missouri; and Terry Cobb, Paradise; daughter Brenda Stinnett of Paradise; sister Juanita Jennings of Paradise; 12 grandchildren, five great-grand-children; nieces and nephews.

U.S. Veteran Funeral Services for Grover Edward Speight, 89, of Many, LA, will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 beginning at 2:00 PM at HillTop Gospel Tabernacle in Florien, LA with Bro. Brad Forrest and Bro. Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Speight Cemetery in Florien, LA. A two day visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, beginning at 5:00 PM with an all day visitation being held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
Grover Edward Speight was born on Sunday, August 30, 1925 in Columbus, LA and passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence in Many,LA.
He was preceded in death by his father, W.W. Speight; mother, Bertha Speight; brothers, Cedric, C.W., Preston, Eugene and Igene Speight; sisters, Hattie Savell, Audrey Walker; special son, Gary Arthur; grandson, Brandon Petit; son-in-law, Gary Petit; great granddaugther. Brittany Taylor Snider; special grandson, Christian Farrell.
He is survived be his wife, Helen Maxine Speight of Many, LA; children, Lloyd (Eddie) Speight and wife Deborah of Hampshire, TX; David Speight and wife Dantina of Many, LA; Carol Atwood and husband Dennis of Florien, LA; Debbie Forrest and husband Brad of Huntington, TX; Patsy Petit of Many, LA; Linda Procell and husband Paul of Many, LA; Bonnie Speight of Many, LA and Jimmy Speight and wife Angie of Florien, LA; eighteen grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Speight, William Speight, Phillip Atwood, Matthew Atwood, Anthony Petit, Jared Petit, Nathan Speight and Conner Farrell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Peyton, Argus Moore, Paul Ferrant, Leonard Alphin, Kent Anderson, Delmer Hodge and James Hendrickson.
