EVERMAN - Jessie David "J.D." Maddux, a painter and wallpaper hanger, died Friday at a Dallas hospital. He was 66.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Maddux was born in Cumby and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Crowley.
Survivors: Wife, Mary Ilene Maddux of Everman; daughter, Norma Lou Worrell of Fort Worth; two sons, David Maddux of Burleson and Larry Maddux of Joshua; two stepsons, Robert Pollard of Little Elm and Ronnie Pollard of Rendon; six stepdaughters, Jeanette Burleson, Sandra Underwood, Norma Lou Worrell and Roberta Needham, all of Fort Worth, and Linda Cline and Judy Corpier, both of Arlington; two sisters, Betty Davis of Denison and Mary Jane Carter of Utah; two brothers, Clyde Maddux and Wayne Maddux, both of Fort Worth; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Odessa Rachel Smith, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend peacefully died on October 25, 2007, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Odessa, a triplet, born in Pickwick, Texas on May 8, 1918 to Arnie Bell and Walter Barton Brown. in 1925, her family moved to the Rio Grande Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.P. Smith; brothers Earl, Virgil, Irwin, Louie, Robert, Donald; and sisters, Cleo and Ofelia.
She is survived by her twin sister Odella Cupp, sister, Mona Purcell, and a brother Calvin Brown. Odessa has two daughters Sharon Woods (Bill) of El Paso, TX and Janice McKinney (Sid) of Harlingen, TX. Odessa has seven grandchildren which include Bruce, Valerie, Stacy, Christy, Shane, Michelle, and Melissa; six great grandchildren which are Kari, Lauren, Stephen, Christopher, Justin and Joshua; two great great grandchildren, Ella and Alexander and many nephews, nieces, and two sister-inlaw, Margie Brown and Marie Massey were part of her family.
Odessa will always be remembered for her love of the Bible, her words of wisdom, and her many stories about life events.

She was born in Hamilton to Pearl and E.F. Lawson on December 28, 1909. She married CD. Woods in 1928 in Dublin. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, CD. Woods of Midland; two sons, Charles (Chuck) Woods of Beaumont and Bill Woods of El Paso; two brothers, T.J. Lawson and B.F. Lawson both of Hamilton; three sisters, Golda Dooly of Hamilton, Mildred Pearson also of Hamilton, and Wanda Bagwell of Big Spring; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Celebration Service in honor of Malvin Harvey Arter will be held Monday September 29th at 10:30 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, The Rev. Dan Heath will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of HenningerHinson Funeral Home. in the fellowship hall in Enid, OK. Casual attire is welcomed. Malvin was born November 21, 1950 in Garden City, Kansas. He passed away September 24, 2014 of cancer, in Enid, OK. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Vivian Odell (Arter) and his father, Alvin Wesley Arter, both of Lindsay, OK. Malvin is survived by his two brothers, Wesley LeeRoy Arter and Travis Dale Arter, both of Lindsay, OK; his wife, Lois Ann Sitton (Arter); four children, Amanda Kay Arter of Enid, Kevin Randall Arter of Oklahoma City, Caleb Dwayne Arter of Edmond, and Malvin Jesse Arter of Enid; and five grandchildren, Zane Elijah Sletten, Josiah Kade Sletten, Trinity Jade Sletten, Judah Caleb Arter and Elsie Rae Arter. Malvin worked for Mustang Fuel and Mustang Gas for over 20 years. He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially fishing, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Ross Health Care with Henninger-Hinson as custodians of the fund.
