Graveside services for Garland Thornton Worley, 67, of Beaumont will be held Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 2:00p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Dr. John L. LaNoue officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-12:00 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Worley was born March 22, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away November 25, 2006 in Beaumont, Texas. A graduate of Beaumont High School and Lamar State College of Technology, he was a former resident of Houston, a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a retired sales representative.
He is survived by three daughters, Doell Worley of Colton, California, Shari Moore and husband Ken of Grapevine, Texas and Stanny Park and husband Dave of Winter Garden, Florida; one brother, Jerry Worley and wife Darlene of Tomball, Texas; three grandchildren, Jason and Jeffrey Moore and Cammy Park; two great-grandchildren; one niece, Jerilyn Damschroder and one nephew, Todd Worley.

E. C. Smith, 79, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, officiated by Dr. Robert Monk. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born in Lubbock, Texas on January 4, 1935, he was the son of Audrey (Clark) and Emmit Carol Smith. In January of 1952, he joined the U S Navy and served in the Korean Conflict.
On January 3, 1957, E. C. married Roxana McNeely of Lubbock in Tatum, New Mexico. They lived in Lubbock until 1979 when they moved to Breckenridge and lived at Lake Hubbard before moving to Abilene in 1981.
E. C. worked for National Linen 8 years and the US Post Office as a letter carrier 16 years. He was self-employed for 16 years as E Z Windshield Repair (1998 - 2014). He was always a top competitor in sales.
Fixing up and selling tractors and motorhomes, traveling, fishing and camping were among his varied interests.
E. C. trusted in God, saved by Jesus. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, now South Pointe Church in Abilene.
He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family and his Boston Terriers, Toby and Scooter. E. C. always had a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger and always found the good in everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Bernie Strickland; parents; two brothers; and one sister.
E. C. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Roxana McNeely Smith of Abilene; son, Floyd Smith and wife Roxanne of Tuscola; daughter, Sharon Tackett of Morton, Illinois; two sisters, Donna Hartline and husband Dub of South Carolina; and Linda Cox of Austin; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Young, Jerry McNeely, Karl Wootten, Jeremy Monaghen and Scott Wilder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of E. C.'s daughter, Debra Strickland, to the Alzheimer's Association, North Central Texas Chapter, 301 S. Pioneer Drive, Suite 105, Abilene, TX 79605.

Linda Joan Cox, of Spicewood, TX has gone to be with her Heavenly Father.
Linda was born on September 13, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas to Emmitt and Audrey Smith. She formally lived in Sherman, TX before moving to Spicewood and lived there over fifteen years. She worked as an Accountant/Auditor for the Texas General Land Office where she retired.
Survivors include her son William Matthew Cox and wife Monica Lynn Cox; her sister Donna Lee Hartline and husband Dub; brothers-in-law Jay Alan Cox and wife Connie Rhea and Randall Duayne Cox and wife Delores Jean. Also included are her niece and nephew Robbie and Buddy Hartline, Tiffany Rose and Tanner Ray Cox; great niece Kinley Rae Cox.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 411 Ranch Road South 620 in Lakeway, TX. Services will be conducted on site. Burial will be held at the cemetery at Bee Caves Baptist Church located at the corner of HWY 71 and RR620.
