Henry Hildebrandt was born March 30, 1854, in Cook county, Ill., died April 10, 1925, at Nerstrand, Minn. He was married to Bertha Von Wald October 26, 1875, to this union five children were born, two sons preceded him in death and his wife died four years ago. They resided on their farm in Holden until 1907, when they retired and moved to Nerstrand. There are left to mourn his departure three children, Mrs. W. E. Roth, Arthur who resides on the home farm and Milton at home, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three brothers, Charles and John of Kenyon, Ferdinand of Nerstrand, one sister, Mrs. Rike Von Wald of Nerstrand. Services were conducted by Rev. L. W. Diedrich Monday afternoon from the home and at 2 o'clock at the M. E. church of which he was a long and faithful member A large concourse of relatives and friends attended the funeral, interment was made in the church cemetery. Those from away who attended the funeral were Dan Boshardt, Fred Buelmeyer, Emma Roth, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Erb and son Roy of Faribault, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hildebrandt, Mr. and Mrs. C. Von Wald, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hildebrandt of Northfield, Mr. and Mrs. Abner Von Wald of Cannon Falls.

Ellen Jeneane Lewis, 61, of Sugar City, died Feb. 26, 2009, at her home of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 14, 1947, in Logan, Utah, to John Davis and Mary Lorraine Howell Powell. She grew up in Chubbuck, Idaho, and graduated from Highland High School in 1965. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was called to serve a mission for the church in England in 1973. She married her college sweetheart, Darrell Lewis, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 15, 1974.
She received her associate degree from Ricks College and began a lifelong career in teaching. She was dedicated to the education of her seven children, as well as many others. She earned a master's degree in education, and an Intensive Behavioral Intervention Certificate. She worked in educating special-needs children. Her ability to love and nurture her cherished family and many others blessed their lives. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and service in the church. She served faithfully with her husband as a worldwide support missionary.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell, of Sugar City; children, Emma (Matthew) Bowen of Salem, Rose (Craig) Miller of West Jordan, Utah, Eric (Megan) Lewis of Kerns, Utah, Troy (Jennifer) Lewis of Rigby, Bryce Lewis of Sugar City, Linda Lewis of Pocatello and Heidi Lewis of Sugar City; siblings, John (Wendy) Powell, Larry Powell, David (Renae) Powell, Sharon (Mike) Jones, Brent (Karen) Powell, Vickie Powell, Brenda Powell, Randy (Betty) Powell, Roger (Sue) Powell and Roy (Sandie) Powell; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lorraine Powell; a daughter, Mary Ellen Lewis; and a sister, Linda Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, at the Sugar City LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the stake center prior to services. Burial will be in Teton-Newdale Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Juniper Hills LDS Ward with Bishop Jack Dunham officiating. The family met with friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Downard Hansen Funeral Home, 241 N. Garfield in Pocatello, and will visit with friends Friday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, with military rites performed by the combined Veterans of Foreign Ware-American Legion; Disabled American Veterans and Fleet Reserve.

John Davis Powell Jr.
POCATELLO John Davis Powell Jr., 75, 5500 Bannock Highway, passed away Monday, June 22, 1998 at his home following an illness.
He was born April 4, 1923 in Pocatello, the son of Jolm Davis Sr. and Julia Shields Powell. He attended schools in Pocatello, and graduated from Pocatello High School. He then went to Utah State Agricultura1 College, and later received his master's degree at ISU.
He married Mary Lorraine Howell Dec. 20, 1946 in the Salt Lake city LDS Temple. She passed away Dec. 26, 1997.
John D. worked for UPRR and taught school at Alameda and Highland High School. He had belonged to the machinist union, and was also a member of AARP. He filled several positions in the LDS Church. He was one of the seven presidents of the Seventies Quorum, filled a stake mission in Fort Hall, was a leader in the Young Mens organization, and had also been a ward clerk.
Very gifted in music, John had served as both a ward chprister and a choir director for several years. He played several instruments, and playing and singing by ear posed little challenge to him.
Surviving him are sons, John D. Powell III (Wendy) and Larry H. Powell, both of Pocatello, David H. Powell (Renae), Spokane, Wash., Brent Allen Powell (Karen), Notus, Idaho, Randy H. Powell, Boise, Roger H. Powell (Sue), Farmington, New Mexico, and Roy H. Powell (Sandy), American Falls; daughters, Jeneane Lewis (Darrell), Sugar City, Idaho, Sharon P. Jones (Mike), and Vickie Powell, both of Pocatello, and Brenda Wilezynski (Ken), Boise. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmo S. Powell (Jesse) and Hyrum S. Powell (Clover), both of Meridian, Bernell Powell (Joyce), Hawaii; and sisters, Bernice Chase, Maxicine Thompson (Dean), both of Boise, and Bxyanetta Bowser (Lionel), Pocatello. He was preceded in death by a daughter and two granddaughters.
