Eldon Ray Erwin, 83, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, in a local nursing home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Belvedere Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Eldon was born Aug. 31, 1928, to Finis and Eunice Erwin in Nimrod, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1949. He was also a carpenter.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Anna Lou Erwin, Jeannie Erwin and Athaline Erwin. He is survived by children: son Sam Erwin and wife Susan of Edmond, Okla.; daughter Barbara Smith and husband Bob of Lubbock, Texas; son Gary Erwin and wife Stacy of San Angelo, Texas; and son Keith Erwin and wife Cindy of Farmersville, Texas; brother Glenn Erwin and wife Alma of San Angelo, Texas; as well as nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
