Weldon Eleck Bilberry passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South in Abilene, with the Rev. Lonnie Carroll officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the funeral home. Mr. Bilberry was born to Sallie (Taylor) Bilberry and Arthur Johnson Bilberry Aug. 4, 1926 in Spur, where he was reared and married Gwendolyn Marie McAlpin Aug. 10, 1946. The couple lived in Lamesa for a number of years before moving to Abilene in 1974. Gwen preceded him in death Dec. 4, 1992. On Nov. 18, 1995, he married Marlene O'Dell of Abilene. Mr. Bilberry owned and operated Bilberry Sheet Metal in Lamesa. After moving to Abilene, he worked for the Abilene Independent School District. He retired as director of maintenance at the First Bap tist Church of Abilene. Mr. Bilberry was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church in Abilene. He was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marine Service, serving aboard the U.S.S. Mandarin and the U.S.S. Allegheny Victory during World War II. Mr. Bilberry was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Marlene of Abilene; four sons, Michael Lee Bilberry of Menlo Park, Calif., James Lynn Bilberry and wife Janet of Silsbee, Ronald Keith Bilberry and wife Nancy of Lubbock, and Robert Lance Bilberry and wife Debbie of Houston; eight grandchildren, Amy, Tara, Claire, Matt, Ann Marie, Lindsey, Lexi and Jade; a great-granddaughter, Amelie; two sisters, Betty Rowell of Lubbock, and Glenda Moore of Mesquite; and an extended family and a host of friends. Stepfamily survivors include Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Towell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Landry and family of Abilene, Mr. and Mrs. Bill McAlpin and family, and Gary O'Dell and family. Glenda Fae Moore, 70, of Mesquite passed away on August 31, 2011.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3 p.m. in Resthaven's Mausoluem Chapel burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Glenda was born on March 14, 1941 to A.J. and Sallie Bilberry. She enjoyed painting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Angela Moore of Van Cleve, Mississippi, Reva Adame of Garland, Texas and Rala Frazier and her husband Jake of Forney, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Betty Jean Rowell of Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Moore; one brother, Weldon Bilberry; and her parents.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the American Heart Association.

He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Conway, Ark. He married Ozell Bilberry on Aug. 7, 1943, in Spur. He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Lubbock from Conway in 1950. He was a truck driver for Furr's for 25 years and a trustee, usher and member of Temple Baptist Church for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Melton Dale Irby of Kerrville; three daughters, Brenda Gale Ashcraft of Monterrey, Mexico, and Peggy Dieu and Nyla Wesner, both of Lubbock; two sisters, Jean Johnson of Little Rock, Ark., and Doris Henry of Bossier City, La., 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 3 t0 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Marie passed away on October 16, 2009 in Lubbock. She was born January 19, 1920 in Waxahachie to the Late A. M. and Eunice Idella (Waddell) Karr. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Class.
Marie was also a member of the 3 R's and the American Business Club. She worked for Southwestern Public Service for 30 years retiring in 1985. She loved to bowl and travelled extensively after retirement. She travelled to all 50 states and Canada. Marie was very involved with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, Larry who died on March 15, 2009, and a two brothers, Clifford Karr and John Karr.
Survivors include; a daughter, Thelma Perry and her husband Mark of Lubbock; two sisters, Dorothy Barclay of Midland, Veona Williamson of Spur; four grandchildren, Jamie Thomas, Brad Marlar, Mike Beadle and Dani Eshee, nine great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be; Mike Beadle, Brad Marlar, Chan Thomas, Travis Marlar and Cody Marlar.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Porch Swing for their devotion and love shown to Mother in her last months.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and only brother, David A. Ponder.
Mr. Ponder is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ava Nell Bilberry Ponder of Corsicana; sisters, Gay Wright of Corsicana, Elizabeth Froese of Dallas, Catherin Stockard of Palestine, Norine Ponder of Dallas and Robbie Elmore of Frost; and sister-in-law, Ann Ponder of Dallas.

No formal services were held for Sandra A. Baber-Embrey, 66, of Orange Park, Fla.
She was born in California in 1947 and passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, in Orange Park.
Sandi, a longtime resident of Grants, N.M., grew up in Grants where she met her loving husband, Robert L. Embrey, in junior high. They both graduated from Grants High School and went on to New Mexico State University.
She and Robert were married in 1967. Their 46 years of bliss yielded a loving family of three children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Sandi led a career in banking, but her real passions lay outside of work. She was fill of life. She was often referred to as a real firecracker. The kind of person that never met a stranger, she could sit down at a job interview and come out with a fistful of recipes, a new book, or a friend for life. She loved to laugh and did it often. Her advice was always sound and sought out frequently. Her conversations were enlightened and fun.
Sandi had a passion for reading and would read everything she could get her hands on. She loved crafts and projects, which enabled her to bring beauty to her home. She loved gardening and would often sit outside enjoying the bounty of her work. A wonderful mother and grandmother, she often played the part of mentor, cheerleader, and friend.
Sandi was quick to smile, quick to hug, and quick to give a kind word. She will be missed.
Sandi was predeceased by her mother, Bonnie F. Hannum, and grandson, A]. Allen. She is survived by her husband: Robert L. Embrey; children: Robin, Stephanie, and Bobby; grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Nicholas, Danielle, Mickennon, Ladd, and Aryanne; great-grandchildren: Jericho and Raven; and loyal dog, Samuel B. Underfoot.
