George Washington "Wash" Petit, 89 died Wednesday at an Archer City nursing home.
Graveside services were Thursday at Archer City Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby King, pastor of Faith Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. Services were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Petit was born Feb 12, 1899, in Jack County, Texas, and had been a longtime resident of Archer County, Texas. he was a baptist.
Survivors include three sisters, Lillie Canada of Archer City, and Mary Clayton and Elligie Brand, both of Wichita Falls; five daughters, Rachel Henry of Henrietta, Texas, Ruby Hopkins of Alvarado, Texas, Janie Nichols of Fort Smith, AR., Leana Boyd of Clayton, N.M. and Corine Henley of Hayward, Calif., three sons, Bonnie of Bowlegs, Okla., Robert of Archer City, and C.W. of Shamrock, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren; and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren.
