She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and singing.
Survivors include two sons, Rod Cottis of Tualatin and Denny Gordon of Milwaukie; one daughter, Kathleen McKay of John Day; two stepdaughters, Kathy Meier of Oregon City, and Karen Koch of Woodburn; one brother, Rod Schlemmer; one sister, Connie Perry; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Max Schlemmer, her mother, Vera Cross and stepfather, Al Cross.

LAS VEGAS - Rodney Dale Schlemmer, 67, died July 8, 2011, after losing a battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). There will be no services, since he celebrated his life with family and friends last November.
Mr. Schlemmer was born Aug. 25, 1943, in Dallas. He lived in Las Vegas for the past 46 years, and worked at Get Fresh Sales as a receiving supervisor. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy, working on a destroyer.
He was a considerate, loving and caring person, who was always ready with a smile for everyone. He was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Sandra Schlemmer; sister, Connie (Earl) Perry of Mt. Vernon; brother and best friend, Carl (Georgia) Abram of Las Vegas; children, Tonja Speegle of Newport Richey, Fla., Mark Schlemmer of Overland Park, Kan., David Schlemmer of Orange City, Fla., Holly Schlemmer of Orange City, Fla., Heidi Belcher of Debary, Fla., and Kenneth Self of Leadville, Colo.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Schlemmer of Lakeview, his mother, Vera Cross of Mt. Vernon and his sister Sharon Barrietua of John Day.

RODNEY SCHLEMMER Rodney Dale Schlemmer, 67, passed away July 8, 2011, after losing a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born in Dallas, Ore., Aug. 25, 1943. Elizabeth Anne Gilchrist Freitas, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at
Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah.
She was born on June 18, 1920 to David H. and Agnes V. Gilchrist in Olivia, MN. She attended school in Minnesota and during WWII she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. She served at Mare Island, CA where she met and married Frank C. Freitas Sr. on November 9, 1945. They raised their family in Stockton.
Betty was a wonderful mother, actively supporting her children in all their activities. She was a Bluebird leader and a fan of numerous sports, including Little League baseball, various school sports, and watching the 49ers and SF Giants with her family. She was past president and active member of Tuesday Club of Stockton and later the Women Marines Association. She was a member of Lincoln Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Frank Jr. She is survived by her daughter Marcia Perry of Layton, UT; son Bob (Suzanne) of Santa Cruz, CA; grandsons Frank Freitas, III of Lodi, Mark Perry(Rhonda) UT, Matt Freitas (Kimberly) of Pasadena, and Bobby Freitas of Santa Cruz; granddaughters Dacia (Rob) Collier, UT, and Anna Freitas of Santa Cruz; Great-grandchildren Zack Perry, Jada Collier, and one on the way. She is also survived by her brother David "Bud"
Gilchrist of MN and sister Margie Groman of AZ, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Though we all miss her, she has said, "Don't cry for me. I've had a great life."
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes scattered in California. A family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd.

Biography
Frank Caeton Freitas, Jr., born October 5, 1946, passed peacefully on July 25, 2013, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was a lifetime resident of Stockton, California. Born to Frank C. Freitas, Sr., who preceded him in death in 1982, and Elizabeth Freitas, Frank is survived by his two siblings, Robert C. Freitas (Suzanne) and Marcia Perry, as well as his sons, Frank C. Freitas III, Matthew C. Freitas (Kimberly), and his future grandchild. He is also survived by nephews Mark Perry and Bobby Freitas, and nieces Dacia Collier and Anna Freitas, as well as grandnephew Zack and grandniece Jada. Frank also leaves his beloved mother Elizabeth, Frank Freitas III's mother, Sally Nash, and Matthew Freitas' mother, Karen Freitas.
Frank attended Lincoln and Colonial Heights Elementary Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School, as did his two sons. Frank loved spending time coaching both of his sons' little league teams and sharing his passion for baseball, as well as playing fantasy football every year with his youngest son, Matthew. For the past thirty three years, Frank has had great success selling real estate and building friendships throughout the San Joaquin County area. He was very much looking forward to meeting his grandchild, who is due in December. In Frank's words, "Now I won't miss a thing." A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Italian Athletic Club of Stockton, located at 3541 Cherryland Ave. As Frank would prefer, casual dress is suggested. Anna G. Wade entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2010 in Fresno, California. She was 49 days short of her 100th birthday.
She was one of 12 children born to Joseph and Elvira Gomes. Along with her parents and siblings, the family moved to the Manteca/Tracy area in 1939 from the San Joaquin Valley, south of Fresno. She resided in the Manteca area until six years ago when she moved to an assisted living facility in Fresno.
She worked 27 years in the Army Depot of Lathrop and Tracy. There she met Roy Wade and they were married in November of 1951. He passed away in 1977, after 26 years of marriage. Anna is survived by one sister. Bernice Hughes, of Oroville. and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, in the chapel. A funeral mass is scheduled on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street. Manteca. Final resting place will be St. Johns Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, in Escalon.
Donations may be made to St. Agnes Hospice. 1303 E. Herndon Avenue, Fresno, CA. 93720, Alzheimers Foundation of Central California, 4411 N. Cedar Avenue. Fresno, CA. 93720, or donors favorite charity.
